Contour and Highlight

This is one of the most fascinating things on makeup, at least for me. You can totally change parts of your face  by doing this in the right way, of course.

It seems to be really simple, but it’s really not. You have to consider a lot of factors, including the shape of your face, the color of your skin and the right products.

The basic way to this is to use contour on your cheek bone, around the nose, forehead, the tip of your chin and if you want, in your face line and cupid’s bow. And highlight the middle of your nose, brow bone, middle of the forehead, under your eyes (make a triangle) and the top of the lips. if you want. But of course, is up to you to know how you want to mold your face or what do you want to make thinner.

You can’t blend it all together. You have to blend one at the time or it will become a mess. Just take your time and do one step at the time.

For the contour you can use whatever you feel most comfortable it. Powder, liquid… Just have to be careful to not choose a tone that is way too dark for you, so it doesn’t become too harsh. And always remember it has to be really well blended.

For the highlight, don’t choose a product that is too light or with too much glitter, will not look good at all. Go with a soft tone with a little shine and don’t over use it. And use it on the parts that you really want focus.

Of course you have to choose the right brushes to do this all.

And here’s a video by Nicole Guerriero to help you understand better all the process.

Have fun and good luck!
